Today I made something really stupid : I installed the new DAZ 4.9 (by inadvertance).
Oooops! Unquietly I tried to open DAZ. It seemed to work correctly...
Except that I don't have any more Smart Content.
A pop up said me that I need a postgrdSQL (I had to search in wikipedia to try to know what means that "word")...
I dream of a world where IT engineers understand that users (and customers) may couldn't be IT engineers.

How will you react if when you buy new tires for your car... Suddenly a pop up comes to your fascinated eyes saying: "you need a slkjpofsh wrench (not a good old 17 mm / 9/16'') and a wcvoshflih road (not the road in front of your home: to easy!) to use your car now and you can't anymore refuel unless if you go to a gas station 500km far from you home" (don't forget that your wheels stay fiercely... close to your car but not on your car) ?

IT = 95% of time to manage the system and 5% to really use it.

I hope that I didn't loose my content: I have a certain amount of scenes with a certain amount of home made stuffs.

Seriously, too many IT companies (even some Majors, alas even one with the fruit) really need to hire some good specialist in ergonomic science.

I don't know if it's same in english speaking countries, but since some times Apple, Paypal, Amazon, etc... will absolutely speak to me in German. Hey! I don't speak German! It's not my language!
...They need a bit of common sense and a bit of culture.

I don't use the Smart Content features for all the reasons you listed. We already have a database, for storing files, and its called a 'File System'.  Every product I buy, I place in a test library, and rearrange things.  I get rid of boutique directories, etc, and do my best to reduce the number of clicks to find things.

I'm concerned about the new encrypted content, mainly because they are literally doing away with the file system.  It means I have to do a lot more work if I want to use it the way I used to. It seems like an incredibly stupid design, and badly thought out.
